As the Chairperson of the Board of School Trustees of Coquitlam, a school district of 32,000 students, and more than 2,000 employees, Barb had the overall responsibility for working with 8 other trustees and senior district staff to ensure the school district was running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining relations with the media.
- Overseeing senior staff.
- Monitoring a budget of $200 million dollars.
- Working as a liaison with local and provincial governments.
- Setting Board meeting agendas.
- Maintaining communication between staff and trustees.
- Being the school district spokesperson.
